Winter is behind the door, knocking, and if your special day is in winter, here are some great new ideas for you wedding. Holiday colors and snowflakes are obvious choice for winter weddings, but if you want to create some new look and make your reception look unique without losing the feel of winter, then next is just for you. Instead of using traditional winter colors red and green for your wedding, try silver and white with crystal touch. Anja Winikka suggests trying “a white velvet aisle runner trimmed with white satin ribbon, or decorate the altar with a crystal curtain backdrop adorned with hanging strands of elegant white phalaenopsis orchids.” For choice of flowers consider full flowers such as white hydrangeas and soft ranunculuses, for example. Tie some crystals to your bouquet for some wintery sparkle. For a centerpiece imagine a white frosty branches in an ice carved vase with some glamurous crystals on the branches, or to create even more wintery, romantic and chic look, try gorgeous chandeliers, add some beautiful white or a little colorful lighting to the whole room and even better if it is going to be a laser lighting moving around the whole room…mmm… that is not only stunning but romantic and winter-like.

Music at the wedding in winter time might be hard to pick. Why not to hire a capella quartet to sing jazz and pop song? For even more classic style, hire a cellist and request “Winter” by Vivaldi to be played or Chaikovsky’s “Nutcracker”. It will surely create a special atmosphere. For drinks how about eggnog and white hot chocolate… You can already feel the warmth of holidays. Incorporate winter into your cake as well: add edible crystals to your cake, dust it with silver accents, top it with beautiful yummy snowflakes or shredded coconut. For sweets you can even order seasonal frosted cookies in a shape of snowflakes. Convert your whole reception room into the winter land. Put on the floor a white cover to create snowy atmosphere. Place crystals on walls if possible. Use fake snow machine for a dance floor. Do not forget lots of great laser lighting. Add some candles here and there and if possible scented with a smell of a pine tree. You can really make your guests feel as if they entered a winter wonderland.
