Linens, Tables, and Chairs….oh my. If your confused about all the sizes and shapes, then you came to the right place. We have covered rectangular tables in the last posts now moving on to oblong and round tables.

Oblong tables are oval shaped, not know in a lot of newer venue. Theses table sizes typically start at fifty two inches by seventy 52”x70”, about four feet by six feet or 4’x6x’ and can extend from seventy two inches by two hundred and ten inches 72“x210” or 6’x17.5’ depending on the manufacturer. If you are using these interesting size tables the linens are very hard to come by and are very costly. We recommend using linens from rectangular tables, in the largest size which is ninety inches by one hundred fifty six inches 90”x156”. This table drape will cover most all side of the oblong table to the floor and on two sided might leave a gap of two inches from the floor which is not visible if you have chairs around all sizes. Not all rental companies are the same. While shopping around for that perfect table linen might not be as easy as we think. Here are some things to consider. Most venues carry round tables sizes very from sixty inches round 60” or seventy two inches round 72”. The size is determine for a round tablecloth by measuring the table across a diagonally. The sixty comfortable seats eight guests and for that fuller flowing look one hundred twenty inch linen in typically used. It is very large and covers all the way to the floor. Other tablecloth sizes are ninety inch, 90”which in our opinion are really short, using only fifteen inch, 15” drop for both side of the table, meaning its seven and one half 7.5” drop for the whole table. See here for samples. The next size up is one hundred eight inches, 108”, this size is a little better where as it drapes just a bit longer then the ninety inch, 90”. Giving you a twenty four, 34” drop divided by two, leaves you with twelve, 12” drop for the whole table. When it comes to seventy two inch tables, 72”. These tables comfortable seat ten, 10 guests, but some venues choose to squeeze in twelve. If you don’t mind to eat and run, or as we say, eat and dance, then this is an option for you. When Using these tables we recommend the longest tablecloths on the market. Which are called 120”s. Although at this time our industry has started to produce the 132” round linens which cover the 72” table all the way to the floor, those linen can get quite costly. If you choose to help your budget, we recommend using the 120” table cloth this way your whole table will be covered all but two inches off the floor. No sense in having your guests get tangled up in all that fabric. It also helps avoid the hazard of tripping. With as much as twelve dollar difference, 12.00 between the two sizes, your budget will greatly thank you.
